Canaan was a son of Ham. His brothers were Cush, Mizraim, and Put. His son was Sidon. He was also the ancestor of the Hittites, Jebusites, Amorites, Girgashites, Hivites, Arkites, Sinites, Arvadites, Zemarites, and Hamathites.
