Jeremiah was Hilkiah's son. He was called by God to warn Judah about its wickedness. He wrote the Book of Jeremiah and the Book of Lamentations. Jeremiah was also known as the weeping Prophet.

He spent his first twenty years of his ministry under Josiah, a good king who tried to bring the people of Judah back to God.
